Presenter line-up announced for Geki 3 arts event

TOKYO —

The Japan International Contents Festival 2009 (CoFesta) has announced the final three artists for this year’s Geki 3 dramatic arts and culture event. The final additions include Kabuki actor, Kamejiro Ichikawa (Kamejiro no Kai, Furin Kazan), game creator Toshihiro Nagoshi (Virtua Striker, Daytona USA) and comic writer Kenshi Hirokane (Kosaku Shima, Hello Hedgehog). These artists have been added to the existing seven content creators to complete the final line-up of 10 performers to be present between Oct 5 through 13 at Spiral Hall, Aoyama, and Oct 26 at Asahi Art Square in Asakusa.

Geki 3 is an annual performance event featuring a range of presenters and presentation styles, arranged by CoFesta. The method of performance is entirely up to the artist and
can vary from theater, to musical arrangement to talk show style pieces. The event, which
commenced in 2007, is designed to nurture talent and communicate success stories
within the younger generation of aspiring creators in a “passionate” and “dramatic” fashion
that will eventually bear fruit for future generations of content creators in Japan and
abroad.

The program features a vast array of creators from all aspects of the Japanese arts and culture content industry. Geki 3 will feature daily shows by a professional from the music, theater, robotics, animation, broadcast, film or game industries who will present a live three-hour interactive show. The presenters will provide the audience with details of their own success and dispense advice to their young audience on trends and predictions for the content industry.

Admission is free and applications will be available via the Geki 3 website (http://www.geki3.jp) from noon on Tuesday Sept 1.
