It's not uncommon for entertainers to becoome politicians but he appears to be the other way around?

Sounds like he had an interesting life in any case.

While I don't think 'comic storytelling' is funny in the least, or entertaining, the fact remains he was a master of the artform that DOES entertain a lot of people. 75 is not a bad age, though of cancer battling cancer is not a great way to go out. RIP, and thanks for the performances.

He smoked like a chimney so the cancer struggle surprised no body. A life well filled though.

Smokers....died a horrible death.........wouldn't his life had been much better if he hadn't been addicted to nicotine. And, rakugo is hilarious. I use much of their body language in my classes.

This guy smoked way too much, drank alcohol way too much, so what is the big surprise?? So he was funny and controversial? OK, so what. RIP funny rakugo dude.
