Rei Kikukawa to fight monsters with magic in new drama

TOKYO —

Rei Kikukawa, 30, will play the main character in TV Asahi’s new drama “Dageki Tenshi Ruri,” which is based on a popular comic. Kikukawa stars as Ruri, a company employee who also has to battle monsters with magic.

She said, “The story is so exciting and I feel good that I can try something different from all the previous characters I have played in other dramas.”

The drama will be aired from July.

Drama??? Wouldn't that be better classified as a "Supernatural Drama"? Drama usually doesn't have magic or monsters unless it's combined with something else. Sci-fi drama, Horror drama, etc.

I think she needs to play sexier roles. Granted she is 30, but sci fi monster doramas is a push for a hottie like her.
