Rikkyo University student named 'Miss of Miss Campus 2008'

Yuri Takami, 21, who is a student at Rikkyo University, was on Tuesday named “Miss of Miss Campus 2009” in Tokyo at the Miss of Miss Campus Queen Contest 2008 in which candidates from 37 universities nationwide competed.

Takami, who studies French literature at college, said, “I never imagined I would win.” Asked about the trip for two to Hawaii, which she won, she said, “I’ll give the tickets to my parents because I don’t have a boyfriend now.”

Takami said she is currently looking for a job. She said, though, she is not interested in entertainment jobs such as TV announcers who are often recruited from such contests.

Maybe she begs to differ. I don't think the a joshiana has the same respect in the broadcasting industry these days and this position is now much akin to another onscreen talent/entertainer.
