TOKYO —
Actress Ryoko Yonekura, 33, will star in her first musical, “Chicago,” in Tokyo from Wednesday. At a media preview event Tuesday, Yonekura performed a few lively dance numbers together with other cast members such as Yoka Wao, Ryuichi Kawamura and Kenya Osumi.
“This is my first musical experience but I have always wanted to perform on stage,” she said. “‘Chicago’ is my favorite musical, so I feel kind of awed to be a part of it.” Asked about her sexy costume, she answered: “We don’t have time to say, ‘Oh! The costume is embarrassing!’ I’m supposed to wear this sort of getup for this musical.”

Ryoko has always been one of my least favourites. May people see her for the beetlejuice that she is.

I wonder if they could adapt "Chicago" for Japan and have them wear clothes typical of the time (1930-40s) in Japan rather than copy. It could be called "Osaka"... No, never mind.

Ryoko seems to have gotten a bit skinny lately.
