Documentaries are supposed to be challenging and dig deep in the muck even if it means getting dirty!

SHOW THE MOVIE! SHOW THE MOVIE! SHOW THE MOVIE!

The diving bell would have helped, but you have murky water with heavy currents = it was a difficult situation.

Still see no responsibility for this accident and companies that overloaded this ship (containers) have not been held accountable.

the true focus should have been on the company and how it ran the ship- yet what happened with the investigation? this focus on the rescuers is insane, having been involved in water rescue- and relativley calm fresh water rescue only- i would never choose to monday morning quarterback this rescue based on a mocumentary

The rescue WAS botched.

@praack, you are completely correct.

We need to ask why was the Sewol rebuilt with more passenger capacity but did not lower the cargo capacity, which made the ship dangerously top-heavy? Did South Korea regulatory agencies "look the other way" while the Sewol was run in such a dangerous condition? Why was the rescue effort so badly botched? And what about the shenanigans at the company that owned the ship?

Even if the movie is biased, maybe the showing of the movie may finally force South Korean authorities to look at how sea ferries operating in South Korean waters operate and whether the ferry operators are doing due diligence to make sure the ferry boats are actually safe.

Perhaps the mayor of Busan is in training for a future political career in a country like China? He does not seem to understand that censorship and the movie industry do not mix well together.

being a Korean myself, I don't think the showing of the movie would actually force the authorities to take action but it may spread a good message out there. SHOW DA MOVIEEE

Such a movie should be produced but perhaps this one was made too soon after the actual disaster.
