Legend! RIP... although that might be a difficult thing to do once you meet up with Elvis and Bill.

Absolute legend. Millions of people who enjoy his music or variations of his playing have probably never heard of him. But they know the famous guitarists who have copied his style.

The sound of rockabilly and rock and roll. His solos on Blue Suede Shoes, Hound Dog and Lawdy Miss Clawdy still sound exciting today. RIP Scotty Moore.

Scotty was the reason I was reluctant to embrace George Harrison and the Beatles until Rubber Soul appeared. I saw him in London on stage a few years back, immobile on his stool, but in sovereign command of his guitar spitting out his mellow licks. The exciting sounds of those early Elvis records still retain their magic to transport me back in time. Thanks, Scotty.
