Seiko Matsuda, Kyoko Koizumi to costar in ad for first time

TOKYO —
Singer Seiko Matsuda, 49, and actress Kyoko Koizumi, 45, are set to make their first onscreen appearance together in a commercial for FujiFilm cosmetics series Astalift.
In attempt to sell a foundation that is designed to be flattering in any light, the pair were filmed under various lighting conditions in several locations. The commercial airs from Sept 1.

Kyoko graduated from cutesy 80s teen-idoldom and to the surprise of everyone, turned into an acclaimed movie actress. Her performances in Tokyo Sonata and Hanging Garden were great. I'd recommend both films for people who don't think Japanese films are good. Seiko... well, um... the duet she did in 1990 with Donnie Wahlberg is really not to be missed, no really lol

She always came across as a humourless, ruthless Madonna-like careerist IMO. Give me Kyoko anyday.

Assume for the sake of argument that both of those statements are true. Still, In my observation, westerners of both sexes get wrinkles well before Japanese women do.

Having never seen them together, I was surprised that Seiko is the taller of them. I've always thought she was quite slight of stature.

Evidence? You want doctor's receipts? It's not something most celebs go on tv and talk about you know. There has been plenty of gossip among Japanese for many many years about Seiko-chan and plastic surgery - just google it and look for yourself. The running joke is every time she goes to America she comes back with a different face.

Papasmurf is correct. It's common knowledge that she has had plenty of work.
The only people who can keep a straight face and say Seiko's looks are natural are people who have less successful cosmetic surgery.

I don't think the average J ladies age well....they care too much about being slim than being healthy. I see at the gym they look so horrible naked. I wonder how men find them so attractive...
