He's a funny chap. He'll do a good job for sure.

C'mon Stewie, do your stuff, and drop a reality sandwich on the whole pompous, self-aggrandising event...

Three hours of wise cracks? Sorry, he's going to flop.

The Oscars make me cringe. Syrupy speeches, idiotic costumes and media fawning turned me off Hollywood for life. It would take some entertainer to make this garbage watchable.

I know of no other profession which so relentlessly pats itself on the back. How many different awards and shows do there have to be for God's sake? As for MacFarlane and his "humor", vulgarity is no substitution for wit.

I think David Letterman is anxiously awaiting McFarlane's appearance on the Oscars.

In spite of Seth being there this year will be one of the few Oscars that I'll miss. And I'll not care at all. I'm hoping it's the end of Oscar for me. Too many good movies never make it. It's all an industry insider payoff via promoters and lobbyists. Forget about it

Also that the American revisionist history movie "Argo" disses my country Canada that even the president at the time Carter noted recently was 90% Canadian really really bugs me. "Based on true story" ...except not

What are you trying to say? President Carter noted that Canada is 90% Canadian?

@Yardley

The plan to get the hostages out of Iran was 90% Canadian. The character Affleck plays was only there a day and a half. It's American revisionist history. They can't just accept that America had little to do with it.

Oscars is not my thing. Seth is though.

The aCADemy Awards, the pageant that is, boring.

"Based on true story" is pretty much meaningless. Both ARGO and LINCOLN are based on real people, but the stories have been dramatized to sell tickets and dvds, not to present actual historical facts, otherwise they would be classified as documentaries.

Seth is the best thing ever compared to the two Japanese announcers that were interviewing all the stars in the beginning of the show..it was so darn embarrassing that nobody could understand the questions they were asking... I'm not sure if there is a connection, I just thought of writing about it as there is no other way to ,eat it known what a catastrophe especailly the lady announcer was, she wnt prepared, she didn't even study her English at all!!!it was terrible!

@Marilita Fabie-Fujisawa,

The problem was the lovely Japanese announcer spoke Katakana, and not actual English.
