Legendary Japanese rock band Southern All Stars celebrated their 36th anniversary on Wednesday by announcing the release of a new single and a concert on New Year's Eve.
The single, titled "Heaven on the Beach," will be released in September. It will be the group's 55th single, and the first since last year's “Peace and Highlight.”
The concert on New Year's Eve will be held at at Yokohama Arena in Kanagawa Prefecture.
Frontman Keisuke Kuwata also said the group has a new album in the works for next year, Nikkan Sports reported. “We hope to create music that will leave our fans with fantastic memories," he said.
Southern All Stars reunited last year five years after splitting. Kuwata underwent surgery for cancer of the esophagus in 2010.

Attended several SAS concerts and events during my time in Japan. Totally enjoyed the New Years's Eve events at Yokohama Arena. They were a blast ! (late 80's, mid 90's folks) Love 'em all, especially Hara-bo ! (Mrs. Kuwata, Hara Yuko ) Rock on, SAS ! ! !
