Speed back in the fast lane with nationwide tour

TOKYO —
Popular idol group Speed will embark on a nationwide tour for the first time in six years. This will be their 5th tour, and the first since the group reunited in August of last year. The upcoming tour will begin with two shows on Sept 5 and 6 at Nagoya’s Nippon Gaishi Hall, and take the group through 10 cities for a total of 16 concerts. On Oct 13 and 14, the group will play two shows at Tokyo’s Budokan. More than 100,000 fans are expected to attend the concerts.
The group’s newest single, “S.P.D.” will be released on May 27. On Aug 5, Speed will also release an album of re-recorded best hits entitled, “White Love.”
Member Hiroko Shimabukuro, 25, said of the upcoming events, “I’m so happy to get out on tour again. It’ll be great to sing all our old songs and have a great time together.” Singer Takako Uehara was likewise excited, saying, “I’m happy that the four of us can get up on stage together again. I want to put on a great show for everyone to enjoy.”

dishdash - dunno about that. The one on the right in the pic above - whose job was to swoosh about and look street - has developed some serious dental chaos over the last ten years.
She smiled in an interview a couple of weeks ago, and I thought I was watching The Spy Who Loved Me.

m with dishdash. The three that I liked have grown into women who should be rolemodels for Japanese girls. Eriko and Hiroko make thoughtful, mature comments in the press from time to time. Takako doesnt need to say anything. As the most beautiful woman in Japan she just needs to turn up.I never cared for the hip-hop dancer (a kind of Sporty Spice member). I didn`t need to see her teeth either. One look at her from afar decided it for me.

Great to have them back! They were role models for my daugther growing up in Japan in the 90's where she could be accepted for liking "hip hop" and at the same time educating the Japanese about "hip hop" as well. From what I understand "hip hop dancer" was one of the more successful out of the four attending a performing art school in New York in her post Speed period. If bad teeth is all we can come up with, that can be fixed.

Well, really, what has Hitoe done besides going to NY for school? She is still only a dancer and while she has some skills, that is about it.
Eriko is the only one who can still hit her pitches and sing. Hiroko got a little too self absorbed and she can not hit the notes like she could when she was younger. She needs to get back to some singing lessons, take a refresher or something.
Takako is just beautiful. Wish someone would write some decent songs for her, since her voice is not that bad and comparitive to Hiroko right now.
But, hey, best of luck to all of them.
