Swift's new album bombing is probably a coincidence, brought about by the fact everyone's by now sick of her breakup songs. Maybe she should relocate to Japan where people actually bother to buy a whole garbage album to listen to one hit song.

Magnus: I wouldn't call going platinum "bombing." Care to elaborate?

Not that I defend the over the roof payments to artist and musicians....but this Daniel Ek guy uses a lot of business bullying rhetoric in his statement....

Taylor Swift's estimated net worth is $200,000,000. My heart bleeds for her.

Its not Swift talking here its her management talking

Taylor who?

He probably misread this part:
"particularly as sales of her latest album “1989” have boomed in the offline world."

Magnus Roe,
The word you seemed to have missed in the article was, "boomed," rather than, "bombed." Swift's latest album is selling quite well in its physical format, which is the entire point of mentioning it in the article.

I think we can assume that Spotify is great for less known artists, not so much for big stars. If Taylor Swift does better financially by taking her music off Spotify, there's really no reason for her to stay.

LOL. You DO realize that her album is the first by a single artist to go "Platinum" this year, right? Maybe you're unfamiliar with the term "bombing" and confused it with being "da bomb"? XD

Another article stated that the payout by Spotify to Taylor Swift this year alone was around $6 million.

Spotify doesn't pay directly to artists. From the very article you referenced:
The artists aren't seeing much at all.
