TBS announcer Yuko Aoki says 'I won't quit'

TOKYO —

TBS announcer Yuko Aoki, 25, on Sunday said she will not quit her TBS variety program “Sunday Japon” following tabloid coverage about her relationship with another married TV producer last week.

“It’s true that I have discussed my career with my boss,” Aoki said on the program. “But I have made the decision to continue to work as an announcer for TBS.”

In 2006, Aoki was reported to be living together with a married TV producer. The weekly magazine Shukan Gendai reported her relationship with another married TV producer in the latest issue published on Monday. But Aoki declined to discuss any details about the story in Sunday.

Why should she quit? Public humiliation, cultural taboo, peer pressure? If she was living with them, would'nt that mean he was seperated (leagally) from his family? Or did he have a secret aprtment he would go to a few days out of the week to be with Yuko Aoki and the rest of the week with his wife? Either way, as an single adult, she has her choice of who she would be with. Words of wisdom, "it takes two to tango."
Both should quit or both should stay. Their choice, not the medias.

    Good for her.

Work and personal lives should be separated and respected.

“It’s true that I have discussed my career with my boss,” Aoki said

In Hollywood they call it the "Casting Couch". Aoki obviously knows how to play the game.

she has a tendency to choose partners according to who can help her career...very career oriented girl, so I suppose she won't quit because she has done what she did to promote her career.

Wow, somebody I've never heard of from a show I've never heard of (belonging to a genre that is totally unappealing to me)is sleeping with another person I've never heard of.

I guess the bottom line is, will the viewers benefit from her not quitting? will her staying on outweight whatever outrage is brought on by her scandal? I believe it will. Ganbare bijin-sama!

I guess the discussion with her boss was about how much extra audience this free publicity was going to bring.

Anyway it's a shame on so many levels that the guy is getting away with it without even his name published! A 40-something, married old schmunk has nothing to do near a cutie like this!
