No arguments here from me. Not a fan of the genre particularly, but 'The Message' is the 'Stairway To Heaven' of hip hop. Classic stuff...

I'm with Geoff on this. But why didn't 'White Lines' get a mention ? Grandmaster Flash's raps had great social commentary...... better than all that mysoginistic, gangster posturing shite that followed.

AKBfan, Not sure if you're joking or being sarcastic but if you're not I'd have to agree with you. Not the best ever rap/hip hop song ever but was a huge pop-culture phenomenon and did change the way we think about the White/Black rap barrier. Love it or Leave it.
