Whilst Wolverine is definitely amongst the more bad-a$$ of the X-men, and comic book characters in general, it's ANOTHER Wolverine movie? I've no doubt it'll be good, but will this one continue from Origins? start after where X-Men three left off?

Anyway, good to see Aus is getting some investment and movie location.

Xmen origins: wolverine (2008)' was filmed in New Zealand not Australia.

The film was mostly shot in Australia and New Zealand, with Canada also serving as a location.

They should do an X-Men movie with Star Trek's Captain Picard and his crew. The book was good!

Serrano, what book was that? If you're saying there's an X-Men/Star Trek crossover, that would be great!

This is good for sure, but I just wish Australia also made more decent Aussie movies. There's nothing I hate more than the usual recycled, cliched "typical Aussie" storyline. Locally-made movies like "Tomorrow When the War Began", were a simple formula, yet brilliant and thought-provoking, and there should be more movies that can compete with Hollywood- that don't have to fall back onto some kind of eye-rolling "unique sense of Aussieness".

The tsunami was over a year ago! How on earth is this supposed to hold up production? Were they planning on shooting in Tohoku?

i am sure the tsumani might have had a little to do with but i wonder of all the RED TAPE to do anything in japan had a lot to do with it.

It'll prob be based on the Frank Miller (Sin City, 300,etc) Wolverine story.

Ted: I was wondering about the location myself, and unless they were going to do some big city shots, which is doubtful given where it's going to end up being filmed, it probably WAS going to be somewhere more remote, like Northern Japan (Hokkaido?). Not sure. Regardless, as sillygirl said I've no doubt there was a lot of red tape involved, as well as possibly fear of radiation and concerns about aftershocks, and possibly costs involved could have increased drastically after 3/11, especially if the government wanted more in order to aid in reconstruction. Either way, it's a shame for Japan, and a boon for Aus. Hopefully Japan gets a crack at another movie, another time.

But... most of the original comic series took place in Japan, and the movie would really help Japan right now. Why the heck would they move and? Now they're going to have to change most of the original plot.....

Another X-Men movie based on Wolverine?! I'm a big fan, but .... yawn ...

Origins was terrible and ruined Deadpool... I hold no hope that this will be good.

Much of Wolverine's character is based on his formative experiences in Japan-it is a pity that filming won't take place here...

Matrix 2 + 3 was filmed in Australia so was Mission impossible 3

I liked X-Men Origins Wolverine movie. The movie was not bad and Hugh Jackman did a great job with the movie and the limited plot line in the film. Can not wait for the movie to come out in 2014
