2015 marks the 30th anniversary of the classic 1980s blockbuster film Back to the Future. And if you consider yourself a fan of the movie series, then you’re in for a treat. In honour of this milestone, a special commemorative Back to the Future concert event is being planned. You’ll have the chance to go back in time and relive the adventures of Marty McFly with a concert featuring a screening of the movie accompanied by a live full orchestra.

The live film concert is making its way around the world with performances throughout America, Australia, the UK and Japan. Fans here will have the opportunity to celebrate the film with a concert at the Tokyo International Forum Hall A. The one-night-only Tokyo event will be held on November 23 (incidentally, a public holiday in Japan — Labor Thanksgiving Day) and tickets are selling at ¥9,800  for premium seats and ¥7,800 for other seats.

Audience goers will be treated to a screening of the movie accompanied by a live musical score performed in sync with the film by the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Nicholas Buc.

If that’s not enough to get you in the mood, they’ve also set a dress theme, encouraging concert-goers to don fashion of either the 1950s or 1980s — take your pick or mix and match. Looks like it’s time to dust off those shoulder pads and denim wash jeans, folks.

Advance tickets are on sale and can be purchased through Lawson Ticket or Kyodo Tokyo.

Right. Hopefully, that orchestra can cover the soundtrack. Hope the actors portraying Biff and Marty are good.

It's an ok film but does it really need a touring musical? I guess you had to be there in 1985 to appreciate it.
