Tsubasa Masuwaka gives make-up lecture in France

Model Tsubasa Masuwaka, 27, was Japan's "make-up ambassador" at the Japan Expo 2013 in Paris this week.

Masuwaka gave a lecture to young French women on applying eye make-up. The lecture was presented by Cozy Honpo, which promotes Masuwaka's make-up brand "Dolly Wink." Masuwaka demonstrated how to apply "tsukematsuge" (fake eyelashes).

Sankei Sports reported that there were over 1,200 French women in the audience and they were all impressed by Masuwaka's make-up skills such as making "natural droopy eyes."

Masuwaka also participated in a product promotion booth and posed for commemorative photos. Some girls burst into tears out of excitement at seeing Masuwaka, Sankei reported.

"This is my second time visiting France. I've always loved France. When I first participated in the Japan Expo, I remember I was amazed by French girls' simple yet sophisticated fashion sense," she said. "They know how to turn their fashion style on and off for each occasion."

Yes, they do know how to turn on the fashion and you should take note Tsubasa. That outfit is a dog.

judging by the photo, lesson 1 will be "How to look like a 3 dollar prostitute"

I believe fake eyelashes went out of fashion sometimes back in the 60's... Same time it stopped being "cool" to smoke and... Ah. I'm seeing a pattern here.

With change!

And just like a lot of fashion, they have come back in again. You need to pay attention!

Not one bit sexy, appealing or anything that is good. YUCK!

She looks like a dude in drag to me

Tsubasa Masukawa is a hideous joke of a woman. The French women in the audience should have laughed her off the stage. Unfortunately, they were probably Japan otaku and avid fans of the worst of Japanese pop culture; i.e., this woman.

Horsefella, don't be so mean. I would say 20 dollar

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Was it a lesson on how to look like a complete tart? or maybe how to apply stage make-up for a zombie movie production?

4 ( +7 / -3 )

People wear anything. Ugh.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Horsefella is so right , mediocre do always promote "vulgar" as "Fashion" and that is how we can recognize them.

Very classy. Is this the best export Japan can come up with?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

No doubt she'll be giving lessons to the French on how to look western by dyeing your hair blond and making your eyes bigger

lesson 1 will be "How to look like a 3 dollar prostitute"

Yeah, that too!

Is this the best export Japan can come up with?

Certainly not! There Pamy Karyu Karyu what's her name, AKB48 and a whole load of cosplay ghouls.

Oh mon Dieu ! Non merci !

Gross

OK, now I think you guys are just being mean. Or you are just jealous that your gf/wife (if you even have one) won't make-up and dress up like that for you.

Stewart Ross - my gf wears make-up and dresses nice, but in a classy way. Clearly class is something that cannot be taught to some people

Looks like cardboard caked with greasepaint.

In a land where larded-on, 1890-style vaudeville makeup is the norm, this emulsified version of The Scream sure is some kind of record.

Can you imagine even touching that face? Awful.

Ewww. She looks like something I had to dodge when leaving the bowling alley too late at night... In Detroit.

@ hoserfella: It's each to their own, I guess. However I still think the comments are a little bit harsh comparing her with a common back alley street hooker. If she is making money out of fashion and make up, then power to her. Saying you don't find her attractive is fine, just most of the people's comments here (all men) are a little OTT. Dont you think?

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Stewart Ross - To each his own indeed, but comments over the top? Look at that face up close again. She must apply make up with a putty knife!

For a minute there I thought she was flogging Japanese spackle to French construction industry.

I've seen the "before" picture of hers. I thought she was pretty before all these plastic surgeries and makeups.

I can understand she's trying to build a brand and make a good living but this is not a good look. I find Asian women the hottest just the way they are. None of that doll face heavy eyeliner crap that makes your eyes unproportional to the rest of your face. Like one of those anime characters or whatnot. Its too cartoon-ish.

ewww...what the hell is wrong with the French!!!!

I can't imagin how applying make on Euro eyes would be the same as Aisian eyes. Droopy?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

looks as if someone needs to give her a lecture on makeup..

"makeup ambassador" -sound like hard work

A Realist, ditto?!

trying to dress mutton as lamb doesnt change the fact that its still mutton

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Certainly not! There Pamy Karyu Karyu what's her name, AKB48 and a whole load of cosplay ghouls.

You forgot Haruki Murakami, Banana Yoshimoto, Takeshi Kitano, Joe Hisaishi, Hayao Miyazaki, etc. Japan bashing, nothing new here. <_<

She can only make money in Japan with that ugly make up! Puck.....

At 27 years old, she is not 'mutton' - don't be ridiculous.

All this bitterness, bitchiness and misogyny makes you lot seem like real corner-of-the-mouth-spittle losers, compared with her.

After all, while her fashion is not at all to my taste, she is doing what she enjoys, and is making money from it.

Travelling the world on business at age 27 - that's pretty damn successful. I doubt if she gives a fig what you think of her. After all, what have you all done lately?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

The "slutter" the better as long as you can travel the world on business at 27? Wow, Maria. Just...WOW!

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

@maria comon makeup just dresses up thhe ordinary into something its not. otherwise why would women and men for that matter need to put that crap on there face in the first place? to all the guys how many times have you met a girl whos all dolled up looking fine, until the next day when its all washed off you think, holy c``p is that the same girl I met yesterday? LOL

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Readers, please stop insulting Ms Masuwaka.

too all the women on here who stand up for this trash, lets see if you can go to the office tomorrow or out shopping with your friends with NO MAKEUP ON AT ALL!. I doubt you could do it without a mask. LOL

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

@maria lets see this girl without all the makeup and in jeans and a T shirt. I think many people will be shocked. unfortunatley there are very few women these days that can say they wear no makeup at all when they go out. makeup is not natural beauty, like i said before it just dresses (mutton/average) into (lamb/above average)

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

well my literacy and my average Japanese speaking skills certainly hasnt stopped me from earning a lot more than the average Japanese person, but we wont get into that beacuse that would be petty of me. also the fact that you could never go out with friends or to work without makeup on because that would be petty also. yes correct please dont judge me because of what you read on JT, becasue that would be petty also.
