TV presenter Mino Monta to play himself in 'Yatterman' cartoon

TOKYO —

TV presenter Mino Monta, 63, will play the role of himself in the animated feature “Yatterman.” Monta said, “I’m still Mino Monta even in the world of animation. I feel I’d make a good cartoon character. I wonder why nobody tried to use my character for cartoons before. I just expected the character would be more handsome than me.”

The program will air on May 5 (Children’s Day) on the NTV network.

here is a man who is soooo in love with himself that when he is absent from his show he makes someone dress up in a "cartoon" outfit of himself. the cartoon has already been done. i can`t stand the sight of his face. here is one who will not be watching on may 5th.

Seems kind of redundant, since he's already a caricature of himself when he appears on 5 out of 7 TV shows in existence.

It's always creeped me out how he's the Regis Philbin of Japan, and thereby somehow makes even Regis look talented.
