Of course, the only way you could tell this song apart from every other enka song ever recorded is to look at the label on the disc.

What label, what disk? There was probably only one master disk which was never reproduced.

the words "sake" "snow and/or rain" and "lonely" will all feature prominently in this song

Guess what, blues/country music all have similar themes from song to song. Amazing how people attack the genre, when the fact is that Misora Hibari had a great talent and it's almost a miracle that we can hear new stuff, almost like from beyond the grave.

nothing amazing about it, all cookie cutter genres deserve it and few are as rigidly formulaic as enka

And by the way, if you've ever listened to Misora Hibari's songs she covered many styles, not just dreary enka songs, she did jazz, upbeat traditional bushi and ondo, and a lot of just pure classic material so this song could be anything.
