This shows China is still a very conservative country with little opportunity to open up the film industry. That's why many mainland artists/actors/etc. are heading down to Hong Kong to further develop their careers. Who says China is the future? Shame on China!!

Edison is The Man. he blew it though...

actually, to go watch a movie in China is very expensive, and many people go. However, piracy on the DVD's is rampant, so its a good decision on their part.

Edison Chen, who saw his image tarnished earlier this year by the release of photos showing him and several women performing sexual acts.

Call we weird, but I suddenly think MORE of him. Anyone thinking less is just jealous. The main person I would scorn is the loser who released the pics. Such people should serve prison time, much like the copyright infringing "Dead kids" web site maker. NEXT!

I wonder if this is not to preempt the problems Pirates of the Carribean 3 had with the ever inward Chinese childishly objecting to a Chinese criminal. I wonder if the Chinese realize that it only makes it two strikes against the Chinese when they do this where there might have been no strikes. Dark Knight has a looney white criminal, another white criminal (Italian descent?), a black criminal, a hispanic criminal (all four American), but the best of them besides Joker was the Chinese criminal who would have walked away with all the money if not for Batman going to huge lengths to catch him.

The only reason to look down on Chinese for that would be because the Chinese pointed out he is a Chinese criminal, and also for crying about it. The Chinese censors should be thanking Warner for their decision. Heck, they may have bought it! Again, I cite the Pirates of the Caribean 3 and how pathetic Chinese banning of the film made the Chinese look. Makes you want shove a pacifier in someone's mouth!

HE blew it? Did he release the pics???

I think somebody blew it for him, someone in dire need of a beat down.

This shows that China is a an immature baby of a country with a frightening combination of excessive self esteem and a need for mind control over the masses.

One- I don't agree with PM Aso on many issues. Two- Aso has nothing to do with this article and is not even mentioned. Three- The decison was "made by WB" because they had no choice, as all foreign business entities have no choice when dealing with China.
