Winners of 9th Clarino Beautiful Legs Awards announced

TOKYO —
This year’s winners of the 9th annual Clarino Beautiful Legs Awards are actresses Shiori Kutsuna, 18, Satomi Ishihara, 24, Ryoko Yonekura, 36, and Maho Toyota, 44.
The awards are given by synthetic fiber maker Kuraray to celebrate healthy, “beautiful legs” on women in four different age groups. Clarino is a leather brand of Kuraray, used in shoes and bags.

Not complaining on thier legs, but there has to be better candidates out there in the 'talento' world. Some of the sports figures already come to mind.

I have won quite a few awards but none for my legs, all for my paintings. Maho Toyata winning one at 44-years is a good sign. Are there really so many silly awards in this country or just because JT likes to make posts about them?

I really hate these sham awards but the leg man in me will make an exception this one time. But, yeah there are probably better candidates than these four ladies. K-pop girl groups have no showing here, mysteriously.

If they're going to have a totally sexist and demeaning contest, why not go all in and have a "best uterus" award? For that matter, have one for the old guys in the boardroom, too: Best Jet-Black Hair Dye Job that isn't fooling anyone; Best Suit that looks exactly like every other suit everywhere in Tokyo.

Always nice to see a group photo of attractive women. My hat is off to these four for winning the contest (silly though it is). What puzzles me is what would have forced the women to even ENTER the contest. How emabarrassing would it be to enter a silliness-themed contest and LOSE? O_o

Wow -- three ridiculous awards in the spate of a couple of days. I could list a bunch of other crappy award ideas but there are just TOO many possibilities that this nation would go for, so I won't bother. I won't be surprised when "best awardist" is announced.

How can you judge their legs when we can only see the bottom halves? I hope none of them have the skinny legs we see all around, with thighs which are as skinny as their calves.
