With lessons for today, movies bring back the '50s

We really need movies about witch hunts. People actually think they are not happening today.

It is surreal to think that in the Cold War era, Burl Ives, yes, Burl Ives, the jolly old guy singing in some of our most beloved kid's movies for Christmas etc, was blacklisted as a commie. And I am telling you, McCarthy was gay and mad at the world that he was not safe to come out of the closet in the 1950s. America made that monster, and its making more now with other sorts of oppression.
