X Japan receives huge response in Taiwan

TAIPEI —
Popular rock band X Japan, who are in the middle of a world tour, rocked the local media after their first Taiwan show on Saturday. On Sunday morning, local papers were abuzz with news about the band, featuring huge articles and photos from the previous night’s event.
Before their next show in Hong Kong, lead member Yoshiki commented, “We broke through the language barrier using the simple slogan, “We are X,” and fans definitely responded. We gave ourselves a beating to make the show as good for fans as possible, and now our muscles are definitely feeling the effects.”
At the Taiwan concert, Yoshiki reportedly choked up during the song “Without you,” when video and photos of now deceased lead guitarist Hide were shown. “One by one, our dreams together with Hide were gradually coming true, but then that world was shattered.”
On the same day, Yoshiki personally made a donation to a local volunteer organization that helps orphans, saying, “I want to give these children opportunities and aspirations.”

I agree, not worth discussing about! I just wanted to make known my dislike for Emo and X Japan.

The very first time I came to visit Japan, I had a vision that was almost apocaliptic, if it weren't hilarious: leaving a train in Shinjuku, I was surrounded by hundreds of brides in black, gray, violet, their dresses disheveled, torn. Make up would make Gene Simmons of Kiss cry of envy. All of them with these true tears of a mix of joy and despair, the perfect emos. It was something surreal. My friend realising my astonishment, told me: X-Japan fans. I wish I had a camera then, it was unique.

dr jones - You've done well there not getting your comment removed! Got to agree with you on the disliking X Japan route though. Fair play to them though if they get people packed into a concert.

Wasn't John Doe first to say "We are X."
X Japan are fine in their own right. I'm not a fan, but I respect that they've earned their following. However they're just a rock band, and absolutely not emo. And definitely not a group that children should seek aspirations in, no matter how charitable Yoshikia claims to be.
