Yon-sama, Choi greeted by 1,700 fans at Narita

The two stars of the popular Korean drama “Fuyu no Sonata” (Winter Sonata), Bae Yong Joon, 37, and Choi Ji Woo, 34, arrived at Narita Airport on Sunday aboard a Korean Airlines charter jet, and were welcomed by over 1,700 screaming fans. Around 250 fans had reportedly been waiting since Saturday night to greet the stars.

Choi appeared first in front of the screaming crowd. Five minutes later, Bae—popularly known as Yon-sama—appeared, dressed in black and wearing sunglasses. He waved at fans who went wild, screaming with tears in their eyes. Bae had been hospitalized Sept 17 for blood poisoning but was released Sept 21, and when he arrived at Narita he looked to be in good health.

The pair are in Japan to promote the anime version of the “Fuyu no Sonata” drama, set to air on Oct 17 on SKY PerfecTV. Bae and Choi will remain out of the public’s eye until their official first public appearance at Tokyo Dome on Tuesday night.

Narita's great for a long layover. There's even showers inside, and plenty of booze to be had.

Narita is not a nice airport. Check out HK or other places and then you will see world class. That Yon Samma does damn well considering winter sonata was such a long time ago. The K-dramas though are pretty good. The K-women are even better!

narita is not that bad...compared to jfk or newark intl airport.

I am devastated, JT. you should have informed us about his arrival in advance. I missed his arrival because I did not know the time of his plane. If I had knownit, I would have gone to meet him at Narita and photgraphed myself with my idol and hadshaked him, maybe steal a kiss, who knows...
