If ever they start flexing their muscle on this, the one that may have the advantage with "Net TVs" is Microsoft, because they already have what Google TV and Apple TV still lack - Xbox Live is already in millions of households. They already have plans for a Xbox Live TV.
Sony could do the same thing with their PS3, but so far they don't have any plan for Net TV of their own, but instead using Google TV for their Sony LCDs. Now, if Sony puts Google TV on its PS3.......... but it doesn't look like they'd do that.
But what will really drive any Net TV is content. Unless and until there's enough meaningful content, the masses would not flock to it.
