Actress Yu Aoi, 22, on Wednesday attended an event to introduce her new film “Tokyo! - Shaking Tokyo” directed by a South Korean director Bong Joon-ho, 39. The film consists of three different stories by French and South Korean directors.

Aoi appears in Joon-ho’s story as a girl who falls in love with a man who isolates himself from society in Tokyo. She said, “I could feel the director’s passion for the film. Tokyo is a place where you can interact with unique people. I didn’t feel it was just a love story.”

Joon-ho said, “Since I wanted to portray the loneliness of Tokyo, the idea of a man isolating himself from society and staying at home without ever going out was a good extreme example.”

The film was introduced at the International Cannes Film Festival in May. The other two directors are Frenchmen Michel Gondry and Leos Carax. The film will be released at the end of summer.
