TOKYO —
Model-actress Yu Yamada, 24, appeared at a promotional event this week for Uniqlo’s new one-piece outfits for women. Yamada, who is the brand’s image character, was joined by two Miss Campus students from Rikkyo and Tokyo Metropolitan universities. The theme was “clothes for the perfect woman.”
Yamada, who coordinated the fashion style for the two Miss Campus students for the event, said, “The clothes are great. I feel like they could empower a woman to be perfect.”

I like Uniqlo a lot. Saying the clothes are 'blah' isn't a stretch, but that's what I like about them -- most of the stuff is pretty simple, comes in basic colors with no branding or logos, and at decent prices. They have some funky stuff and some higher-end sweaters and things, but mostly it's decent quality at an OK price. Of course, maybe if I had more money I'd shop somewhere else. It upsets me that that girl has no thighs :(

What happened to Norika?

Me too, my wardrobe is full of Uniqlo stuff. Low price, but casual, comfortable and smart. Much better than expensive hideous stuff worn by people who obviously just want to show off how much money they spend.

"casual, confortable and smart"
Casual and comfortable, yeah. I don't know about smart...

I propose we test this empirically. The control sample would be the most revealing.

The last time I saw her on TV she could only squeal "iyada iyada iyada!!!" about 800 times in succession. Most definitely NOT the perfect woman.

Yes, smart, and I mean the English meaning, not Japanese meaning.

I'd also like to add that it's great that Uniqlo has clothes for my size. There'a a reason in Japan why it's always the XXL sizes which noone wants.

I'm sorry but I must disagree with the poster who did not like her pantyhose,I feel that they make her outfit even more attractive and it is nice to see that nylon covered legs are back in style.

Yamada Yu is fantastic, but the Uniqlo pants are a dealbreaker for me.

Love Uniqlo, especially the T-Shirts. Like Yu Yamada, nice. Also like Norika Fujiwara too.

Must be flattering to Kazue Fukuishi and Norika Fujiwara to hear Yu Yamada is Uniqlo's "perfect" woman. What were they, just in the general vicinity of a CM shoot?
