Yu Yamada
Friday 22nd May, 03:16 PM JST
TOKYO —
Actress-model Yu Yamada, 24, and six other models worked their magic at a fashion show held in Yurakucho in conjunction with the Japan premiere of “Confessions of a Shopaholic.” The movie, directed by P.J. Hogan, stars Isla Fisher as a college graduate who moves to New York to nurture her shopping addiction.
Yamada, who also likes shopping, helped co-ordinate the fashion show, and said: “It’s good for stress, or for when I want to reward myself. I love clothes more than anything else.”
Yamada is currently seeing actor Shun Oguri, 26, and reporters asked her if she would be getting an engagement ring sometime this year, to which she replied: “If I can get one, anytime is OK, anyone is OK!”
“Confessions of a Shopaholic” (titled “Okaimono chudoku na watashi!” in Japanese) opens in cinemas on May 30.

Looks like she got some sort of hoof thing going.
Himajin at 11:08 PM JST - 22nd May
I've already seen it on a plane, for heaven's sake.

I was amazed by this girl's legs, until I noticed the 40+ cm heels. not bad though

This constant talk of dating and engagements among the tarento really gets old. Instead of discussing anything of value, so many Japanese want to focus on the inane and ignorant to escape from reality.
Yu Yamada is a fine example of Okinawan beauty. She would do well to find a real man overseas like Jessica Michibata did.

This is what you get when you read gossip rags and watch gossip shows. If you want real journalism, there are magazines and channels for that. Clearly you aren't interested! =)

bdiego: My point was concerning the overabundance of this stuff about the dating/engagement thing of late in an attempt to distract more and more people away from reality. My posting history and the writing I do in newspapers in Japan show how interested I am in more serious topics.
Do you have an opinion about Yu Yamada and the premiere of "Confessions of a Shopaholic?"

Hey, baby, do those feet go ALL the way up?
Maybe it's the camera angle, but it's not a flattering photo of her face.
hashira at 10:29 AM JST - 23rd May
it's not the camera angle. i have to turn away any time her commercials come on. I can't understand how she became a model. apparently height and shun oguri were the deciding factors, but how did nobody notice that she looks like a donkey?
Potsu at 12:47 AM JST - 24th May
She's so ugly...
weetzie at 02:35 PM JST - 26th May
i realized yamada yu has the perfect face for hating! no wonder she plays characters that are just plain annoying & evil. her face fits all those negative reactions toward her.
Wakarimasen at 02:54 PM JST - 26th May
Movie is rubbish but Yu looks ok in a Japanese way.

Translating: she looks like a clown to us westerners?
Wakarimasen at 02:57 PM JST - 26th May
Not a clown. Bit scrawny, strange legs, not sure about the dress sense. But certainly worth a night or two of fun and frolics.
dishdash at 05:59 PM JST - 27th May
Gotta love those legs and that mouth - remember those vodafone adverts
USARonin at 06:04 PM JST - 27th May
Those legs are almost as thin as Angelina Jolie's.
Ms. Yamada's arms look healthier than AJ's.
