Yuki Kudoh stars in Japanese film for first time in 17 years

Actress Yuki Kudoh, 37, appeared at the premiere of her new film “Haru yo koi” this week, marking the first time in 17 years that she has played the lead in a Japanese film. The story takes place in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, where a man commits a murder and runs away to lead a destitute life. But his wife (Kudoh) and child look forward to seeing him again.

Kudoh said, “This is a very heart-warming film. I was moved by it as soon as I read the script.”

The film has already been released in Saga, and will be released nationwide from June 7.
