Hop Revolution for beer lovers
TOKYO —
Organised by Drinks Media Japan, who produce the annual Whisky Live and Tokyo International BarShow events, and supported by The Japan Beer Times, Hop Revolution is your chance to meet and drink with some of Europe’s brewers who are at the cutting edge of the changes sweeping through the world of craft beer.
Utilizing new methods and ingredients, they are pushing back the boundaries of beer and exploring new areas of flavor.
Confirmed attendees include James Watt of Brewdog (Scotland), Mikkel Bjergsø of Mikkeller (Denmark) and Kjetil Jikiun of Nogne-O(Norway). Several of Japan’s most respected breweries, including Baird Brewing and Yo Ho Brewing will also be participating.
The event is being held at Club Axxcis in Shibuya on Sunday Dec 9 and is divided into two parts: Session One from 1-4 p.m. allows unlimited sampling of both keg and bottled beers, plus the chance to participate in any of eight different seminars, hosted by the brewers themselves. Beers served at the seminars have never before been offered in Japan and include a rich dark ale called Bracia from Thornbridge Brewery in England, a beer that was awarded a maxium score of 100 points on the Ratebeer ranking site.
Session Two, from 4.30-7.30 p.m. is being described as Party Time, with Guy Perryman from Inter-FM doing the honors as DJ.
Tickets can be booked in either English or Japanese via links on the Hop Revolution website: www.hoprevolution.com
Advance tickets for Session One are priced at 4,000 yen and include a complimentary Hop Revolution beer glass and unlimited sampling, whilst admission to Session Two is 1,000 yen (free for those who attend Session One) and thereafter a cash bar (drinks priced from 500 yen). Seminars are 1,000 yen per seminar and are only available on the day.
Advance booking of tickets is highly recommended as they are selling fast and there are unlikely to be many, or even any, tickets available on the door.
Come and join the Hop Revolution!!
