Its amazing how anything you feed your pet that does not come out of a can or package labeled dog/cat food is bad for your pet! I suspect a bit of fear mongering by the pet food industry.

This article is about packages labled dog/cat food that are frozen raw and sold in pet stores. This seems to me to be more about industry regulation and safety standards to keep consumers safe. It doesn't seem to be disputing raw meat for pets, but commercially packaged raw meat products that could be full of bacteria dangerous to humans and animals alike.

porto has it. No dog in the wild ever lived on commercial-frozen, pre-packaged raw meat.

If you want to feed your pet raw meat, go for it - but make sure it's fresh and hygienic.

Luckily for us our mutt is a committed vegan - she doesnt have any of these concerns!

That reminds me of the old joke:

"Our dog doesn't eat meat"

"Why not?"

"We don't give it any."

Interesting article. One goal I have this year is to get a hunting/gun license in Japan. A friend of mine wants to start a business processing deer and boar meat into dog snacks.
