"Our community is not concentrated geographically," said Marco Farani, a consul-general of Brazil in Tokyo, so such roving services "are an effective and convenient way of reaching out the Brazilian community in Japan."

Innovative idea. I wonder what the numbers here are for that other Japanese diaspora; the Peruvians?

I am weary of banks via van, but the roving services do have potential!

An interesting story. Good luck to the Brazilians in Japan.

I am weary of banks via van,

Intriguing comment. Like most people I've never used a bank van so I find it difficult to imagine how one could become weary of them. Could you elucidate?

I see them where I work. I see them alot, and I am concerned when people with large amounts of cash in hand are gather in one place. It isn't in a secure building with guards and cameras in 360 degree view. In addition, there is always the chance for an ambitious criminal outfit to impersonate one of these vans because from what I saw. There was nothing unique about the van, the employee, or slips that couldn't be reproduced.
