South Korean budget airline Jeju Air aims to inaugurate a chartered flight service between Seoul's Gimpo International Airport and Central Japan International Airport near Nagoya in March, sources close to the matter said Tuesday.
This will be the first time for an Asian low-cost carrier to start flights to Chubu airport in central Japan, possibly intensifying competition among airlines flying between the airport and South Korea, which has become a favorite destination of Japanese tourists because of the depreciation of the local currency. Chubu airport now hosts operations by All Nippon Airways and South Korean carriers Asiana Airlines and Korean Air.

Flown Jeju once and it was okay, though the fleet is far from new or extensive. No surprise they are choosing Chubu, with Kansai Airport's new second runway boosting landing costs, and Narita still at number one. Maehara take note!
