Interesting to taste how coffee used to taste almost 100 years ago.

I didn't know the '20s had a unique coffee taste, and what does Yokohama have to do with it????

I'd give it a try except that I'm pretty sure it will never be at the local 7-Eleven and I can get a 20 oz (600 mL)Starbucks for $2.25 (~Y200). Y498 seems a little high- used to get cans of Boss & UCC for Y210 (couldn't have gone up that much in the last 7 years). Maybe someday it'll be at Mitsuya in Fort Lee, NJ, but if it's Y498 there it'll be at least $6 here.

By the packaging I'd say its ground (粉) coffee, so not that expensive for 200g. Apart from the fact that Yokohama, was one of the first ports open to foreign trade and thus one place where coffee began to be introduced in to Japan, a little checking showed that the company opened in Yokohama in 1920. Might give it a try if I see it in the store...

@rizaric: I looked into it, and yes you are right, it is ground coffee, not a prepared drink. Which is strange considering that the article says "Key Coffee has reproduced and BOTTLED the taste of the 1920s with its Yokohama 1920 CLASSIC." Weird......
