Listerine liquid toothpaste

Listerine liquid toothpaste

Listerine is marketing what it bills as a “liquid toothpaste.” The liquid is meant to be swished around in the mouth. Then you spit it out, and follow up with a quick cleaning with a dry toothbrush.

The substance contains a number of anti-bacterial substances and is especially effective in cleaning the gums and areas between the gums and teeth. The liquid also apparently has whitening properties.

This new “liquid toothpaste” is mint flavored and retails for 598 yen per 500 ml bottle.

Sounds great. A lot of Japanese people should use this product because they all seem to have bad teeth with an awful breath that can kill you in one sniff.

@alladin - if so, they should sell 2L bottle not just 500ml !

I wonder how many people will just use the Listerine toothpaste and not follow up with the toothbrush?

    alladin

some14some>>> You are right, the bottle is too small for Japanese, they need a bigger bottle so they can use this product about 10 or 15 times a day. But even if they do that, they will still have bad teeth because they are not clean people when it comes to personal hygiene.

cadmium>>>give it to the Japanese, there will probably be a lot of people not wanting to brush their teeth because they will think using this product will be enough which will make their teeth look even worse and smell more than it smells now.

Well said kyushujoe, I really wish we could get some Listerine to take away the stench of his/her racist rants. I'll take halitosis any day.

It's something to have handy when brushing your teeth fully is not an option I guess. I doubt it will easily replace toothpaste though.

Some say the Listerine regular mouthwash actually makes bad breath worse because it kills both good and bad bacteria in the mouth, thus making the mouth produce more of both.

Also, it is said that if you brush correctly, you don't actually need to use toothpaste. Toothpaste just gives your mouth a nice taste.

????? What does this comment refer to, please?

But even if they do that, they will still have bad teeth because they are not clean people when it comes to personal hygiene.

To make such a statement, which I personally resent with all respect, you must be a dentist, a dental hygienist or a physician who sees hundreds of patients everyday.

About the product introduced here, it sounds like another beefed up mouth wash which can never be a real substitute for proper brushing. I am somewhat suspicious of all these anti-bacterial substances.

Hi presto345, it refers to a comment that kyushujoe made that was deleted later on by the moderator. This comment will probably get the same treatment in the next few minutes. It has to do with alladin's comment, the one you quoted.

    Cheers,

they are not clean people when it comes to personal hygiene

... because taking a bath every day makes you smell bad. Don't lump the oyajis together with everyone else. I've had to deal with horrendous BO in the states.

Like I trust Listerine. Baking soda and hydrogen perioxide does the job.

Japanese people have bad hygiene? Holy mother of all cows, what planet are you actually from?

There's no such thing as liquid toothpaste. There's toothpaste and there's mouthwash. That's what this is, mouthwash.

This re-branding and re-positioning is simply a cynical attempt to distract attention from the recent findings of a causal link between mouth-cancer and mouthwash (see: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/01/11/2463113.htm)

This country needs to embrace "tooth floss" big time.

If you had to choose between only using one dental product, which product would it be? Mouthwash, Tooth Paste / Brush, or Floss.

My answer would be floss. And I can only hope no one chooses mouthwash (despite what it may claim). Mouthwash will never dislodge the decaying food from between your teeth, and brushing can only do so much (can't get everything).

Feel free to support or refute.

I would classify it as 'toothliquid'

won't catch me using this product even though I use mouthwash even after I brush to kill all the bacteria that you don't get with just brushing.

The Oyaji's at my work clog up the bathroom brushing their teeth every lunchtime yet they still pong due to a fear of deodorant. Hopefully they'll discover this latest gimmick so I don't have to wait forever to wash my hands.
