White rice -check. Cilantro?? Nowhere to be found in Japan. If it was available, It'd prob cost 500 yen. Ridiculous.

Cilantro aka Coriander is not at all rare in Japan. Or expensive. In Okinawa a smallish bunch is just over 100 yen. The seeds are common too and if you have enough space for a plant pot you can easily grow your own. Hearts of palm might be difficult to find, but I would think that take no ko (bamboo shoots) might work as a substitute.
