Domino's Pizza runs Buy 1 Get 1 Free campaign on their English order site

TOKYO —

Once again, Domino’s Pizza in Japan is offering customers some great bargains if they order online, using the English website.
For example, if you order one Brooklyn Pizza, you’ll get another pizza for free. This terrific bargain is available only on the English website or you can click on the Domino’s banner on Japan Today.

Domino’s launched its English website last year as part of its 25th anniversary in Japan and to help folks living here get their hands on high-quality pizza without navigating Japanese menus. On the website, you can order everything from pizzas and pasta to hot subs and side dishes.

Here are some benefits of ordering your pizza online.

—If one of the pizzas on the website doesn’t meet your taste, you can build your own, choosing the type of crust and toppings from 24 different kinds.

—You can even specify when to have your pizza delivered.

Also, for “Star Wars” fans, there is an added offer. To celebrate the 3D theatrical release of “Star Wars Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace” in Japan on March 16, Domino’s is holding a special campaign through the end of April.

Pizzas (with one topping) come in an original Domino’s “Star Wars” box. The medium size box (1,399 yen) features R2-D2 on the front and Secrets of R2-D2 uncovered on the back. The large size box (2,099 yen) shows scenes from “Episode 1” on the front and a description of the various characters from the film on the back.

An added bonus is you can get one of two original “Star Wars” reversible posters – the Darth Maul or Episode 1 versions – and they come with a lightsaber poster case.

To take advantage of these and other offers, all you need do is simply register your address on the website.

Not being a New Yorker, I am not familiar with the Brooklyn Pizza. What are the toppings?

    Domino's is awesome.

I always wondered if the Japanese adult population are like Americans when ordering Pizza. After phone ordering the pizza, do the Japanese lose thier minds and act like children too? Do they get mad and keep saying "Where's the Pizza man every 2 minutes?" And when the doorbell rings, do they also go crazy, run around the living room shouting "He's here! He's Here!" LOL!

Is Dominos going to have those crazy discounts again, like the Parakeet discount for people with parakeets?

@Siouz Chef - I've had Dominos on a few occasions but have yet to experience the "Domino runs". Maybe you're thinking of Shakey's pizza and the infamous 'Shakey's shake-up' (of one's bowels, that is).

Nope. I'm thinking of the 'Domino effect'.

We tried the R2D2 Star Wars set. Lovely poster in a really nice lightsaber poster tube, and the box the pizza came in was fantastic. If you have a Star Wars fan in the house, its well worth having! Much nicer pizza than pizza hut, too.

Tried this last night and it was not too expensive. 2375 yen for 2 large pizzas. Would have been better if the pizzas were good. They were just okay. Don't know how to get the posters though.

Not compared to any other pizza delivery company.

Still no domino's where I live. Same they won't do this for pick up orders.

I've done the 2 for 1 deal a few times for the veggie Brooklyn pizza. Cheap meals for 2 - 3 days, what's not to like? and reheated pizza somehow tastes much better than freshly hot.
Dominos have made ordering online easy, and I applaud them for that. I wish the other stores would follow suit - I7ve tried to fill in their online registration forms. Nightmare.

I don't enjoy Domino's pizzas, they are not the best pizza on the market but this is only my opinion some people may think that Domino's pizza are nice.

I have been using Dominoe's English site for several months and am impressed at the Rakuten point integration you can use on your pizza order. If you have set up a rakuten account ( in Japanese), and have accumulated points, you can use them on your purchase, in addition to the 15% discount you get from Dominoes. The only complaint I have is that you cannot choose from the entire menu. For example, if I want to order the deep dish meat passion, the order goes through just like any other order, but you get no order history - thus, no order processed. If you call the branch where your pizza is being made they will no record of that order. Be careful. The best money value is the 2 for 1! Awesome deal.

I absolutely love domino's back home, and it's not too shabby here, although of course prices and all. I'm a bit frustrated that I just saw this now (I saw the add that appears in the upper right hand side of the homepage, but I don't remember it saying you have to register on the English site only), and have ordered dominoes at least two or three times this year. Prices are slowly... slowly starting to get better in Japan with regards to pizza (size is another story), and this helps a lot. I may just have to order tonight.

Ordered Domino's somehow they managed to:

    1. Be late (I got a 500 yen coupon for my next order)
    2. Burn the entire pizza (they were sorry about it and the manager came to my apartment).
    3. It was cold!

Anyone want a 500yen coupon I wont be ordering again!

gogogo - Sorry about your bad experience. I'm sure that was a fluke.

My two large Brooklyn pizzas took only 25 minutes to arrive piping hot and tasty, and cost less than 2,400 yen.

I ordered near midnight, the manager said they forgot about my order and it was sitting at the end of the pizza tray oven thing and burnt and that they already shut off the oven and couldn't make another one.

@gogogo - that sounds like great service, as far as how they dealt with a cock-up - I'm impressed.

I pray for them to be late, to be honest - there was a time a while ago when I collected a bundle of those 500yen apology coupons - they make a big difference to the price.

When I was living in Saitama there wasn't a Domino's nearby my mansion. I would have to walk 12 mins to my station, take the train for 5 stops, walk 15 mins to the Domino's, walk back to the station, take the train back to my home station and then walk back to the mansion. Sitting on the train and not diving into my pizza was agonizing.
