Wonderful cold green tea from Japan is one of my favourites. I can get bottles at a local Asian foods store or just make it myself with tea bags. Japan I think has what they want, just figure out how to introduce it to an American audience?
Would remove the need for Pepsi and Coke though, so probably not. However all it would take is a Japanese company to give them a license for distribution under another name and done.

High fructose corn syrup is only used because large corporations that produce it successfully lobbied for high tariffs on imported sugar, making it too expensive.

Gotta love the government. They take bribes to force people to use high fructose corn syrup, then they ban the drinks that contain them.

Anyhow, good luck to the cola manufacturers. Somehow I doubt that a tasty calorie free cola will lead to a slim America.

The high fructose corn syrup is mainly used in the US and not in fizzy drinks produced overseas, where sugar is used instead.

The various (unsweetened) teas you can buy in Japan are a good alternative to the tooth-rotting, fat inducing muck that these companies also sell.

Addiction to sodas, in let's say American sizes, are as harmful as addiction to alcohol.

BTW, just the other day an acquaintance of mine, who loves coke, was greatly surprised to hear why I NEVER drink the stuff. My male colleagues and I used to use it in a pinch to loosen rusted bolts when we didn't have enough penetrating oil.

A bit less wife-beating, though. And less of a tendency to drive cars into walls (or people).
