    Is this: http://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory?id=5436718 what's prompting this question?

    I wrap my phone in tinfoil just to be sure.

    Of course not, since I use aromatherapy, naturopathy, reflexology, Ayurvedic phrenology, and Ecky-Thump to ward off all the evil cancer-causing rays, just like any reasonable person would do.

    I don't worry about cancer, but I sometimes get a strange, probably scientifically unfounded sense of foreboding that sticking my phone in my jeans pocket next to my crotch for 12-15hrs a day may be affecting my reproductive potency.

    papasmurf;

    I wouldn't worry too much about that feeling - it's probably just your phone set to "vibrate".

    Don't worry about cel-phones. I hardly ever use mine, my wife uses hers more.

    As for cancer worry, it can strike anyone regardless of their life-style, etc. Know that as we have a few cancer-sufferers in my family.

    The first thing that causes cancer is worry itself. Smoking will cause more cancer in Japan than cell phones. So let's tackle the damned smoking problem in Japan and then deal with cell phone cancer.

    Before anybody else gives an answer to this question they really should take a look at this clip. I am not saying mobiles caurse cancer, but sticking your head in a microwave simply can’t be good for you.

    Will I reduce my mobile use? No, life is too full of other risks & I had no plan on living for ever.

    Two things, watch the clip in relation to what you said. Abject fear will change what you are doing. And, I think it is a really good idea that “some” people carry their phones in their pockets, there are some people we just do not want reproducing.

    The evidence is unclear at best, I'm more worried about getting cancer from drinking, smoking or just plain stress. I don't have a family history anyway and something will get you in the end so why worry your life away. Papasmurf, I wouldn't worry about reproductive ability, it hasn't seemed to slow me down any, I think our second may have been conceived by sharing a glass.

    I rarely speak on the phone, so cancer from a phone doesn't concern me, but I send many text messages. I'm more likely to develop arthritis in my thumb.

  • Triumvere at 03:39 PM JST - 25th July

    Nope.

  • Pump24 at 11:45 AM JST - 26th July

    Joe Jackson said it best back in 1982..."everything gives you cancer." So no, I'm not concerned.
