You would expect that a new ruling party would come in and make something of all the promises made before the election. And what happened? Scandals. Nothing has changed (for the better) in the last 6 months. And as the new ruling party, they bring the same scandals as the last ruling party. Bunch of criminals.
Disastrous - mired in scandals (the PM getting milk money from his mommy and Mr. Osawa), pxssing of the parents (US-Japan Alliance Issues), failing to get out of election mode (trying to push through unrealistic promises), etc. Indeed, at the current rate Mr. Hatoyama is in danger of leading the DPJ to the political wilderness at the next election.
He is just different person than what he was in election campaign. Japan needs strong leadership at the top than anything else. Likes of Koizumi. That's the only thing lacks in Japan to come up again. Come on Its a country who almost destroyed and came back strongly after world war2..... Mr. Hatoyama please resign.. You have enough cash... Let other get the chance like Aviation minister to become leader.... You can't do it... Big looser... Just can't do it.... Pity Japan... I love japan .... Do something
With his mummy paying his allowance, his public squabbles with his brother, and all that sun eating with his wife, I feel like a kindergarten kid again.
As Paddy repeatedly said before the election, the LDP and the DPJ are two cheeks of the same backside. What did anyone expect other than the non-delivery of his promises and scandals concerning the top dogs. TIJ.
Don't know.....everytime i see this guy i fall asleep. He has that "amazing" (fully sarcastic) personality and boring voice that just sends you off into larlar land whenever he opens his garb. I really can't see this party getting another shot at the title when the next elections role around.
Agree with Kwabish and TRG. The LDP was dirty but at least somewhat competent. Aso was pretty unimpressive but the Ozawa naikaku (no, that is not a typo) is outright harmful. Now they are going to keep Foreign and Defense ministry experts out of the Futenma negotiations to defend democracy in Japan? Oh, who needs the input of the experts on major national security issues? Especially when the experts were not elected! Let Minshuto, who seems to have no clue what sort of nasty can of worms they have opened, handle it. Power to the People!
He looks like a puppet on strings....literally. At least President Obama seems to be his own man, and tries to lead. Hatoyama? He embarrasses himself every time he goes into debate against the opposition....

They didn't lose any of it. It went into the pockets of firms like mine. We need the LDP back, they will continue to funnel money to those who deserve it (the elite).

I wouldn’t, I would wait and give him a chance to get it right or wrong, but six months is hardly time enough for that.

Too early to comment on Hatoyama's performance.

^ months IS a little early to make an evaluation and it would be hard to do so given that the Hatoyama administration hasn't really done anything yet.

He's always sleepy. Always.

Entetaining! It's fun watching him and his cabinet dodge all the bullets fired at them (and sent to them) for misappropriating funds.

Too early to make a full judgment, but it looks like the car is heading over the cliff. Looks like all talk and no work.

Wow! Six months already. That is about the average tenure as PM, isn't it?

Average. He lacks leadership charisma. He seems to open issues without a real plan. But at least there is improvement from the LDP loser days.
