Of zero significance.

Has it been 6 months already? Jeez...

So far so good...

Hardly noticeable, NOT that much of significance, so I guess alright. Nothing special about the woman.

It's her last name obviously that is garnering her this attention as an ambassador. Other then that no one pays attention to what ambassadors have to say or do. It's a "job" where you sit down all day hardly do anything and get payed for it.

Photo ops.

I think her husband is the brains behind the face. :)

I agree with Serrano. So far, so good.

Eh, has she done anything at all except pose for pics around Japan?

I think US-Japan relations have warmed slightly since she came on board. This is because she has shown an optimistic willingness to work with Japan through constructive dialog, while making it clear that Japan is an important ally of the U.S.

Thanks to those efforts, she is largely seen in a positive light by many people of Japan. I was surprised the other day to hear even my Japanese wife atypically make a favorable remark about her.

She had nothing special to do and she's done it perfectly. I want exactly the same job. Are we going to grade all Ambassadors ?

I give Ambassador Kennedy high grades. She is a high-profile ambassador who has been seeing Japan first-hand. She is out and about, learning many things about what is happening here in Japan, about Japanese culture and other things. Plus she seems to be mingling rather well with the local people, who, so far, seem eager to see & meet her.

If I were asked for something critical, I would have to say that she should have studied more about Okinawa before visiting there. Yes, Futenma Marine Corps Air Station has to be moved ... but to where? The proposed site near Nago is right in the middle of a natural fish & sealife area. If she is indeed worried about saving whales, dolphins and other sea creatures, then she must also worry about what is living in the sea off of Henoko. But then I guess she has to follow the Embassy's & U.S. government's lead on this issue and toe the line as they demand ...
