In August, the International Olympic Committee will pick two sports from softball, baseball, golf, karate, roller sports, rugby sevens and squash, to be voted on for inclusion in the Olympic Games. Which two would you like to see in the Games and why?

Softball! Professionals don't play, generally, so we'd get to see true amateur competition. Karate! Speed, power, skill, wow. Golf is too elitist. Roller sports are entertaining, but hardly classic sports. Rugby sevens is played by a fraction of the world, but is damn exciting. Squash...fun to play, but to watch? Yawn.

Rugby sevens would be one vote. The games are exciting and their is a reasonably large participant base. Karate might be my second choice.

Softball and Baseball have both had their chance in the Olympics, neither one creation much of an impact on a global scale.

oh good, this one again...haven't seen it in almost 2 weeks...rugby and women's softball...real men only play baseball

Baseball and Rugby. It's criminal they dropped baseball, which is far more of a global sport than half the junk they have. And rugby is exciting, fast-paced, and played all over the world.

Karate. Karate as a sport reflects better the control of mind over the body. Also, it doesn't involve balls, professionals (unfair advantage), machines or infamous use of steroids.

Gee, I wonder why cricket wasn't included.

Gee, I wonder why cricket wasn't included.

    IOC is 'not cricket' (perhaps)!

Baseball because it's fun and very popular. It would fit very well in the games. Also Karate because it's the best freaking thing in the world. (Yes I train Karate)

Rugby sevens or karate - though if Rollerball was one of the 'roller sports' I'd go for that instead ;)

They should definitely get rid of Tae Kwon Do, which was introced for the Seoul Olympics, so that the sore losers korean could at least get one medal. Replace it by KARATE. Rugby is fun to watch but a few countries kick some asses(like baseball), so I don't know if it's a good idea to pick it. I'd say squash is an excellent idea, in order to popularize this sport, because it is propably one radical and funny way to get in shape.

No to them all except karate. The Summer Games need to be pared back, not added to.

There was a degree of the martial to the original games, so inclusion of karate makes some sense and there are already medals for judo, wrestling and tae kwon do.

Golf is a game, not a sport (bowling next?) and is already dying out in the UK and the US.

Most countries don't play baseball or softball.

Squash is another racket sport, like tennis, badminton and table tennis, that just doesn't fit the idea of pure athleticism.

They need to get rid of rhythmic gymnastics, synchronized swimming and diving, equestrian and sailing. While these activities all require great skill, their appeal is limited and the latter two are elitist to the nth degree.

As a British man, i would like to see darts and snooker at the next Olympics.
