With all the disputes in the different sports, you have to wonder. I do think though, that the refs are also under tremendous pressure to perform as are the athletes!
It's no better or worse than any other Olympics. There's a lot more instant replay and super-slow motion to make the officials look bad, when in fact they're probably just as good as their predecessors.
A teacher from one of my high schools actually went to judge some of the men's gymnastics at the London Olympics. By the way, his school's gymnastics team won the prefecture championship and will move on to the country finals. So I'm sure he knows what he's doing.
I think it's basically ok. Just saw a British boxer lose a close fight. Pendleton (GB cyclist) was also relegated harshly in her last race - came out of her lane, but only after being pushed by her opponent! Certainly no sign of the outrageous bias that has been seen in some previous Olympics (boxing in the past has sometimes been just awful, home fighters awarded ridiculous wins)
