Japanese men going on sex (oops, golf tours) to Southeast Asia. I was in a restaurant at Narita recently, and there was a group of about 12 guys, no wives or girlfriends. They were talkingn about their three-day weekend, already rowdy and barking orders at the waitresses.
I've also seen German tourists in Thailand acting high and mighty. And groups of Australian men going on cruise ships looking to pick up women. There are bad examples all around, I'd say. I've never been on a tour group and have no desire to.
Mainland Chinese, easy! In the main square in Frankfurt last week 200 of them descended from tour buses, coughing and spitting phlegm, tossing cigarette butts, hollering loudly ("Do-ya, do-ya! Mei-yo, mei-yo!") across the platz, and they moved in one odiferous mob from one point to the next, all the while being screamed at via a loudhailer by their guide. (Hands down the Belgians or the Luxemburgers are the best mannered and polite!)
Japanese men for keeping sex slavery alive in asia. Bad manners and arrogance mean nothing compared to what Japanese men do to young asian women and children every day.
The Chinese are the worst, pushy like bulldozers with absolutely no concept or understanding of line-ups. Rude and just so low-class.
The Best? Well, I guess Canadians. Just so very nice, except those that go to S-E Asia and have sex with pre-pubescent boys of course. They may still be nice but that isn't the contribution to the local economy people hope for. The British are ok until they get some booze in them, but then again since they are always boozing I guess they are quite a rough lot to deal with. The Australians? Well, I just don't know why they insist on wearing belly-shirts. Keeping up with the Americans on fatness is ok, but dress appropriately please.
williamsmith - hit the bullseye with the Chinese, ask an airline cabin attendant who are the worst passengers, most will tell you its the Chinese. Mao has a lot to answer for with his classless society, he made it "classless" in all possible senses of the word.
Loud obnoxious Americans, drunk hooligan-esque Brits, know it all Australians, rude classless Chinese, arrogant French....plenty of groups renowned for their bad behaviour.
Americans: Always complaining about everything they see and comparing it to back home...so go back home. Loud mouthed and arrogant, and flashing around thier money because its worth more than ours. Always going on about how they are the saviours of the world, and 'thanks for loving freedom'. Self righteous and arrogant and loud.
Chinese, loud, rude, public spitting. Pushy towards staff at any shop. pushing in lines.
Korean*same as above.
Japanese: Pulling up in buses, pouring out, taking a million photos a second, then piling back on the bus after taking some sideways glances at the locals, like we shouldnt be there.
Wow Aussie is getting more grief than I expected... noone hates us Kiwis yet? Im guessing our behaviour at oktoberfest is less than exemplary. And we sure are despised in Aussie. Butthen who doesnt australia hate?
SOmeone had it right though...this question is a bit dodgy and encouraging of ill-tolerance. But its Fun!! 0.o
I'm not sure Israelis count for this thread; they are banned from most countries so we can't match them up most places. But Oh, Isrealis are the worst in India, talk about arrogance and disrespect!
I saw an Israeli wearing a "Free Tibet" t-shirt; now that is IRONY!
Have to agree with TJRandom about the Martians. Always invading in those flying saucer tour groups, destroying with ray guns, blowing up things, kidnapping people to perform experiments... And the smell! I just can't abide them.
"Moderator: Why are you puzzled? The question specifically asks for opinions on any nationality of tourist group."
I think the confusion is because your allowing comparisions between nationalities on something as trivial as tourism. When news article posts about something as serious as crime, etc... you ban comparisions of ANY type as irrelevant and "off topic".
In other words... you pick and choose your moderation policy based on what ever message you want to convey.
The answer to this one is pretty easy. Every single country's tourists groups has arrogant ignorant self-centered disrespectful obnoxious idiots that behave like total morons wherever they go. Face it, life and the tourism industry in every country which has tourism would be boring without these offensive nitwits. If I had my own country, it wouldn't even be called tourism. I would call it asshatism.
I tend to agree with Honne, the problem is tourists in "groups" generally tend to be easily annoying to others who aren't in thier group. The nastiest behavior I've seen abroad was Aussies at Oktoberfest in Munich taking off stinky wool hiking socks and dipping it in beer (with vomit already mixed in it) and then sucking the liquid from the wet sock. Good on ya...way to ruin other peoples hedonistic worshipping of the golden nectar.
All nationalities and their tourists, even your own nationality can lose control of their behaviour.
The main importance of tourism is to make all nationalities well travelled, better and wiser via a lot of travel.
New traveller tourists have to start some lost of control of behaviour some where. If they do not make mistakes how are beginner tourists going improve, get wiser and become well travelled individuals.
The British, unfortunately - however depends where they are. Brits tend to misbehave when in numbers and on cheap flights to European beer brewing countries or a week in the sun. They can be really bad.
Kiwis argue about sport, to the point of having a fight, which is silly.
Americans - well at least you can hear them coming wherever they are... many of whom are sure to spoil any tranquil spot in Japan with their noisy pronouncements.
I can't honestly believe that some people are saying the Japanese - surely high-spending, well-behaved tourists who don't drop litter and don't stick around are a tourist attractions' dream?
As a group I've found Canadian males to be probably the most well-adjusted single category of traveler to Japan, though it's a different story with their womenfolk.
Americans and Germans pretty much universally disliked wherever they go. My best friend works for a Japanese company in Germany and always jokes that the Germans are the Americans of Europe. They travel with the expectation that everyone will cater to them and try to make their experiences as much like home as possible.

It's not only Japanese men who do that - Plenty of whites from Europe and Australia do just as worse to Asian women and children too.

Oh come on, this question is just stupid trolling. Will tomorrow's question be:
"Boxers or briefs?"
or
"A/S/L?"

Wow this thread totally flies in the face of that often-touted "other countries are not relevant" line. Guess we won't be hearing that anymore.
Moderator: Why are you puzzled? The question specifically asks for opinions on any nationality of tourist group.

Tour groups coming to Japan aren't so bad. I think people are a lot more sensitive to local customs and different cultures than they used to be.

Loud mouthed, uncouth, drunken Aussies. Look at Bali and Niseko.

All anglo-saxon countries suck. Americans have that added annoying habit of talking about "freedumz" and how America saved everybody.
I rank as follows:

This is such an inherently racist question only true racists would take the time to respond with a nationality of their disliking.
