Probably pushed to some degree. Now the old boys can say ,"We tried women in politics, but it just doesn`t work." Back to stodgy old men forever.

Both. Probably 90% of Japanese politicians have broken the campaign finance laws in some fashion. It is just a matter of whether some particular news outlet and/or someone with a grudge decides to go after someone and make their discretions public.

She jumped, making it look like she was pushed.

P U S H E D. The ridulousness of news reports and comparing other politicians uchiwas said it all to me. She didn't do anything much different than the OBs

She was pushed. But then again, nobody told her to stand on the edge of the cliff.

True. So can we go and get all the others now? Mind you, there won't be a single Japanese politician left! But well done to Obuchi for not crying and screaming!
