Most of my favorite shows are from the 1960s and '70s, which I think was a golden era for TV. Anyway, here are my top 10, in no particular order.

Get Smart, The Munsters, I Dream of Jeannie, The Untouchables, Mission: Impossible, Star Trek, Twilight Zone, Columbo, Frasier and The West Wing.

I don't think I can name 10 but I enjoyed and can re-watch the following:

during my younger years: Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Veronica Mars - great role models.

HBO stuff: Six feet under, The Sopranos.

Japanese series: Keizoku and SPEC, as well as Kekkon Dekinai Otoko.

Guilty pleasure because I am arafo, (incidentially アラウンド40 was a very bad Japanese series): Vampire diaries.

The Man from Uncle, Top of the Pops, Goodnight Sweetheart, A Touch of Frost, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Time Team, the new Sherlock, Poirot, Star Trek, The Dog Whisperer, not in any particular order.

The Twilight Zone was the greatest show ever in the U.S. Excellently written, cast and acted. They used a different cast with different directors and producers (for most episodes) and different stories every week. Very hard to do. Great series! The rest are debatable.

Offhand, here in Japan I've always liked "The Drifters" (Japan's all-time No. 1 comedy shows) and "Konto 55" (Jiro & Kin-chan's show in which they did a strip-tease with shapely girls to the jun-ken-pon routine). Both were funny, funny, funny ... and I never missed them.

In the U.S., my all-time favorites are "I Love Lucy," "All in the Family," "Mission Impossible," "Star Trek," "Milton Berle," "You Bet Your Life" with Groucho Marx, all the Walt Disney cartoons, "American Bandstand" (where I learned the latest dance moves/steps) and "The Milt Grant Show" (which was a Washington, D.C., copy of American Bandstand).

@Thunderbird Bod was a classic and Derek Griffiths is a genius. I had a debate with my wife who suggested that Chorlton and the Wheelies was better. Unbelievable.
