Riding the 42Library streetcar downtown to go shopping for presents with my Aunt and little sister at Kaufmanns department store. We'd have lunch at the Top of the Triangle and visit the Alcoa building and Advent chapel to see all the wonderful decorations. Later we'd go over to Station Square and ride the incline to see the point fountain and Horne's building tree from Grandview Avenue. My hometown at Christmas time was just gorgeous and a magical place for a little boy.

Wow...so many....
Going to the JL Hudsons at downtown Detroit. (Especially the bookstore, which had all of the books in the Hardy Boys series).
Polish Christmas food and carols (kolędy), and being with family. Receiving my first bicycle. The feeling of anticipation on Christmas Eve.

The huge pile of presents my parents (Santa?) had organized for me and my siblings. My mother's Christmas dinner. A suitably scary movie on TV.
