If I am in the inner seat (not the aisle), the person who never gets up to go to the bathroom; meaning I must continually ask them.

ronaldk - spot on. As one of those alcoholics that frequently need to use the bathroom, I too am annoyed by those that never get up on their own volition.

Crying babies. But now I just bring my own noise cancelling headphones and watch five movies back to back. Don't notice much else.

Talking as loud as possible and laughing out loud like bastards. One group of three guys was doing this nonstop and I had to ask them to be quiet. To their credit, they stopped. I think this must have been their first time flying, and it was an international flight.

Overweight gluttons whose fat asses encroach onto mine. Lay off the buffet and Hagan-Daz or pay for a business seat.

People who buy super-sized soft drinks, especially hot Starbucks Coffee, and carry them on board along with all their duty-free shop goods and carry-on bags, swaying as they waddle down the aisle and threatening to spill it on your lap. Drives me friggin crazy.

Japanese obasans who kept checking their hand luggage in the above compartments..!

People who get angry at kids.
Just wait until you have kids, then you'll realize what a silly a@# you were to get angry....

When i was a kid, my parents never took me anywhere...let alone taking me on flights, for fear my cries would disturb others...If I were to have kids I would do the same..:)

Japanese kusobabas and kusojijis who eat smelly food stinking up the whole airplane. Then begin the flatulation fest 30 minutes later.
Oyaji that stink of cheap shochu and cigarettes and insist on talking to me.
People with a ton of carry on that pull out other peoples' luggage from the overhead and think they are some how special to have it to themselves.
Fat, sweaty people who stink and immediately reach over and point the air to themself, their nozzle and mine.
Kids sitting behind me that kick my seat, scream, and cry and the parents do nothing. Don't give me crap. I have a 10 year old daughter and when she was an infant to 3 years old we didn't fly with her. We also made it clear to her that she was not to be a pain people's a** when she does fly with us.
That pretty much is what bothers me.

how sad! how about teaching your children how to behave appropriately and respectful and considerate of others? i was fortunate enough to travel a lot when i was young and my parents never had to put up with any ill behaviour - just like ptolomy!

A passenger who doesn't even want to have a pleaseant conversation with u while on a long flight, and he/she is silent as if though they r thinking up of blowing up the plane. Quiet, non-communicative people r the scariest people in the world. I miss Ronald Reagon, the great communicator.

"people with a ton of carry on"
If someone's bag is in my alloted overhead compartment, I take it out, put mine in and take the offending bag to a flight attendant and tell them it was in my space.

ptolemy: I agree with all of your points. My three kids travel very well, have flown around the world a few times, all at different ages, and are the best behaved. Bad kids are the parents fault for not being a parent.
seesaw: No. I have 3, and they have all traveled well because I taught them respect for others and things that are not theirs. See the above.
And anyone who has a carry on that is larger than a small computer case or backpack is wrong. I wish the airlines would enforce their own rules.

Agree with everyone above. Best action is self-defense. I invested in a great set of noise-canceling headphones and bring my iPhone or iPod. Plus a comfortable sleep mask.
If people right around me are doing crazy things over and over, I nicely but pointedly ask them to cease and desist.
Oh, and let me add: playing cards and shuffling them all 13-hours of the flight. This was before I became more proactive about c and d.
