Why should Japan do anything?

Look at the unholy mess the USA has created there in the name of "Peacekeeping."

Let the U.S.A. sort it out. They started it.

How about, be quiet on the matter?

Absolutely nothing. Absolutely. Nothing.

They should share any relevant intelligence. Suspect that equates to nothing¸ but maybe it does. For example weren't lots of bitcoins sent through servers in Japan?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Stay out of it.

Japan doesn't need to do anything other than being highly vigilant, scrutinize the people that want to kill us, namely the Jihadists, I'm not going to be PC, I'm going to call it for what it is. There is a lot that Jpana can do, the can do surveillance and monitor the mosques and learn how to react and what to do in case JAPAN should ever have a disaster like this, because the Japanese are not prepared for something like this, God forbid!

Why should Japan do anything?

That's what France, Spain and the Philippines said as well and looked what happened.

Look at the unholy mess the USA has created there in the name of "Peacekeeping."

Not only the US, but that is a problem that could be fixed or at least rectified if the Rules of Engagement were not so strenuously applied.

Let the U.S.A. sort it out. They started it.

Believe me buddy, Japan is part of it too, like it or not and only a fool would think that none of this would ever hit this country.

Firstly Japan has no voice in global community anymore.

Secondly Japan don't need to involve in this terrorism mess created by Uncle Sam for future generations. I don't think Japan was in the global terrorism radar anyways.

Japan is one of the very few most peaceful nations today. Why invite trouble unnecessaryly?

The best Japan can do today is just be an observer and keep a safe distance from this mess.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Keep well away from all involvement in it.

Japan gets most of its oil from the Middle East and is a member of the international community, so it cannot just stay in its cocoon. But what to do is a difficult question to answer. Japan does have good relations with all the countries in the region, especially Iran and Turkey. Sorry, I don't have a more tangible answer. I'll give it a bit more thought.

Don't touch it with billion mile stick. It doesn't involve us. This mess was entirely the making of the US and Europe. Remember Syria was occupied by France for about 30 years? I wonder what they did there. Really. It is not our mess. Don't put Japan on the terrorists map any more than Abe already has.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Nothing. Its nothing to do with Japan. Stay clear of the mess there or risk becoming a target for terrorist attacks.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Absolutely nothing at all---unless Japan wants lots of unnecessary trouble.

Don't put Japan on the terrorists map any more than Abe already has.

gokai_wo_maneku: Perhaps Abe is doing it to distract Japanese people's minds away from the failure of "Abenomics".

@garfield, Not "perhaps", but "absolutely". But this is also rooted in his grand daddy complex.

bass4funk,

with the influx of Muslims entering this country, you have to be cautious, that's not racist or having any kind of phobia

Sorry to say this, but your remark IS racist.

Stay away from the total disaster called "The war on terror." Help refugees who are victims of both terror and the so-called war on terror.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Guard its borders.

Just love all the comments in support of Japan's isolationism. [roll eyes]

Japan should get involved. Deeply involved. Radical militant Islam is a global problem, extending well beyond the Mid East -- right up to Indonesia.

It must be fought, and Japanese blood and treasure are required to do it.

Those who think otherwise are, in effect, allowing the US to act on Japan's behalf -- and that means in the way US leaders wish to act. Said another way, things had been different, if Japan had normalized in military potential back in the 1980s, the invasion of Iraq by Dubya and his criminal gang would not have happened so easily. Balance of power includes balance amoungst allies, as well as between hostile powers.

The only part I like of your comment is: "Balance of power includes balance amoungst allies, as well as between hostile powers" but talking about IS, I have to say you that IS is a problem only because US wanted that it were a problem, its precisely US who have been funding it through buying the oil that IS steal in their own countries. Besides if the world would leave Middle East alone they wouldnt have the necesity to attack other countries like happen in France. Finally it will be always important to control migration anyway.

Set an example.

Mass immigration is a bad idea.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Absolutely nothing.

Saul

The US is not funding ISIS. Even if it were buying its oil from the region, which is is not, you should know. The US gets a slim fraction of its oil from the gulf. Europe and Japan, now, there is a different story.

And, the just-leave-them-alone argument simply doesn't hold. First, practically, that is impossible. "It's a small world, after all..."

What's more: the notion that they are mean to us because we are mean to them simply does not hold water. They are mean. Full stop. You either accept that; or you don't.

Do nothing. Do not send the SDF anywhere near that area. Japan is too vulnerable. An attack the likes we saw in Paris will have quadruple the casualty rate in Tokyo.

Politicians with no family at stake (i.e., not taking the train or out in public without security) should not be allowed to have the power to decide to send troops anywhere.

Be vigilant

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Do nothing."

Borrowing ideas from the Republican controlled Congress...?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Nothing at all. Just continue to reject islamic asylum seekers exactly the same way the Australian authorities are doing.

Japan "as a member of international community" can help UN in cleaning up the mess after the carnage.

First world countries have efficiently used this UN service over the years to their own advantage.
