I've never met anyone from an internet dating site.

Make eye contact. Smile. Speak to potential partners.

They are good, you can choose your partner. Easy to get, easy to get rid of. You know those sites are not serious, you just pick up someone for the night and you know what you want, you know what they are looking for. Very convenient. Now, I feel really sorry for people who are looking for a serious relationship on the internet.

Met someone one a internet site. After a couple text messages and phone calls I became lost intrest. Dating sites are nor really worth the time or money. Coffee shops or shopping centers are a good place to meet potential partners.

I have done it. I received messages from all sorts but since I was looking for someone very specific and in a specific situation where I would not be able to meet such a person easily, I could find her thanks to the internet and she is an amazing woman. She is the only one I met via the site. She easily tops any woman I have ever met through usual means and we will likely marry next year.

47yr old fitness freak. Likes Pina Colada and getting caught in the rain. Looking for J/W 20+ for romantic walks along the Tamagawa.

Seriously though, I know 3 couples who got together through agencies (well, one was the Tokyo Classifieds) and all are still together. I suspect that they attract deeper than average thinkers who are going to look below the surface, and thus find true happiness with their partners.

It has worked for me repeatedly. I have had two relationships that went over a year from the internet. Remember not everyone has time to go to bars or clubs to meet people.

I have heard this internet meat market works quite well - if both parties know what they are after :) There are a surprising amount of Japanese women out there using these services...

very nice and convenient! it's like an online shopping, you choose from the menu, then send a pm, then checkout, then set up the delivery place, and enjoy your date.

You can have way more opportunities meeting people on the internet than at coffee shops/shopping malls as some have mentioned. In fact, has anyone really picked up consistantly from malls/coffee shops? I dont think sooo. women have it easier to get responses online but its more difficult when weeding out the vultures (for those serious ones). Men, it is easy to get the average to below average women (for both serious or 1/2/3 nighters) but more difficult for the prettier ones. Conclusion, the semi-perfect partner is out there, be it online or not, you just have to be patient (not hump anything) and you have to be able to imagine the type of person you are looking for...

Yeah, I have a problem with this one as well. I would doubt that many women would go to a coffee shop to pick up. Which also suggests that men picking up at coffee shops bother/annoy several potentials before the find someone who is interested.

At least on the internet both parties are interested. Also, I know of a couple of very successful matches arising from the internet that I would doubt would have happened otherwise.
